This project gathers providers and consumers of Special Education Additional Qualification (AQ) courses to identify and analyse the gaps in knowledge, skills and learning resources needed to implement the Ontario College of Teachers Guidelines for the 3-part Schedule D AQ courses in Special Education. Open space consultation will be used to build on the discussions held recently by the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT), and to focus the group on the gaps, ways to address them and research resources needed. From this we will determine the best design for a dynamic tool kit to address such gaps, plan the resources needed to keep it updated and design an evaluation process to monitor its use and effectiveness for policy makers, course providers, candidates, and the province’s teachers.
