Hosted at York University, the Black Child and Youth Studies Network is a multi-disciplinary, multi-institution research, program and policy development incubator that aims to help address issues of inequity and racism experienced by Black children and youth through structures and systems of education (K-12 & PSE), child welfare, policing, healthcare, housing, and criminal justice. The project’s university partners include University of Toronto, University of Windsor, McMaster University and University of Ottawa. The four main goals of the Network are to:
- build the capacity of the next generation of Black academics and researchers;
- mobilize knowledge to make "research matter";
- build partnerships and networks among stakeholders and decision-makers; and,
- conduct multidisciplinary research, program development and analysis.
