Math & French Tests

Intermediate Math Proficiency Test

The mathematics proficiency test is completed online and is comprised of a timed multiple choice set of questions. Upon registration, applicants will be notified of test details by email. Applicants who do not successfully complete the test will be ineligible for admission to the course. A minimum grade of 60% (C) must be obtained to be considered successful. All test results are final and not subject to appeal.

Ineligible applicants can opt to:

  1. Transfer to an alternate course (subject to eligibility and space availability); OR,
  2. Cancel the application to receive a full refund of fees paid, less the non-refundable test and registration fee amounts.

The Intermediate Basic Mathematics course requires either the prerequisite university Math courses or successful completion of an equivalency assessment. We recognize that for many of you, it has been a considerable time since you wrote a Math test. The Intermediate Basic Mathematics Tutorial gives an overview of the Intermediate Basic Mathematics course content and is a brief preparation for the test itself. The learning experiences in both the on-line and face-to-face formats in Intermediate Mathematics are structured to develop understanding of both the subject content as well as teaching strategies for adolescent learners. Some knowledge of intermediate mathematics is required in order to be successful with these learning experiences.

This tutorial is a sample test that is intended to be completed in one hour. Print the PDF "Question" file, complete the multiple choice tutorial then view/print the "Answer" pdf file and compare.

FSL Part 1 Language Proficiency Test

Test registration closes at noon the Friday prior to the test date. Upon registration, applicants will be notified by email of date, time, location, and room. Applicants who do not successfully complete the test will be deemed ineligible for admission to the program. All test results are final and not subject to appeals.

Non-Refundable Test Fee: $50 in addition to course tuition.
Pour réussir le test d'admission au cours de FSL, les candidats devront compléter et réussir (niveau 3 pour chacun) les taches suivantes: la lecture d'un texte ainsi qu'une compréhension de ce texte; répondre oralement à des questions afin de démontrer les habiletés de communication, la partie écriture est composée de 25 questions d'ordre grammatical ainsi que d'une épreuve d'écriture libre (200 mots).
