Join education and private sector leaders from across Canada for a unique educational experience to deepen and enhance sustainability approaches to education and training programs.
Included are a series of daily meetings (1-2 hours) to set context for the day’s activity and its relationship to ESD; presentation by experts about the social, economic and environmental issues facing the area and the implications for the planet; time to network and share experiences in their jurisdictions with the experts and visits to schools and businesses facing unique challenges.

Charles Hopkins is currently the UNESCO Chair at York University in Toronto, Canada where he coordinates an international network of teacher education institutions from over 70 countries collaboratively working upon the reorientation of elementary and secondary teacher education to address sustainable development.
In addition, he is an advisor to both UNESCO and UNU regarding the UN Decade on Education for Sustainable Development (UNDESD) 2005-2014.
Previously, Charles was Superintendent-Curriculum with the Toronto Board of Education. In earlier positions with the Toronto Board, he served as a District Superintendent.
