New B.Ed Grad AQ Program (May - June 2012)
What is an Additional Qualification (AQ)?
An Additional Qualification (AQ) is a qualification you may earn after you are certified as a teacher in Ontario. AQs qualify you to teach another area within your division or obtain special skills for use within the classroom.
Increase your Employability with an AQ
In today's competitive job market, Bachelor of Education graduates need an edge to set them apart from the thousands of other new grads who will enter the work force after graduation.
In accordance with the Ontario College of Teachers guidelines, and open to all certified teachers, the New B.Ed Grad AQ Program has been designed especially with new graduates in mind and is tailored to explore and answer questions that may be unique to a new teacher.
Program Schedule
Classes run May 28, 29, 30; June 4, 5, 6, 11 and 12 from 9am-4pm. Online assignments of 44 hours are due by June 15. School observation date is May 31 and is arranged by students prior to the course start date. Please see the official Principal's Letter that is required as part of the program. Students will not be teaching, but rather observing experienced teachers and dialoguing with them regarding the AQ class learning.
