Teach ESL (Intermediate/Senior) in Taiwan (May - July 2012)

Combine an AQ, ESL teaching and travel this summer!

The ESL in Taiwan Program
Certified teachers can acquire an ESL Part 1 or an ESL Part 2 AQ with an intermediate and secondary focus and the experience of teaching ESL for AYJGlobal in cooperation with the Toronto District School Board's Continuing Education Department for 3 to 4 weeks in Taipei, Taiwan.

The AQ course runs Tuesdays & Thursdays: May 22, 24, 29, 31; June 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28, 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturdays, June 2 and 24, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm at Earl Haig Secondary School in Toronto. In addition, candidates complete online assignments and are members of a professional learning community in Taipei. The teaching component involves teaching ESL in Taipei to intermediate or senior students for 3 to 4 weeks in July.

Orientation Meeting
AYJGlobal will host an orientation meeting for successful teachers in early spring (date TBC) to provide an overview of the Taiwan experience.

Travel & Accommodation
Return airfare to Taipei and local accommodations included worth approx. $3,000 value for selected candidates. Health and travel insurance is the responsibility of the candidates. This is an amazing opportunity to gain an additional qualification, international teaching experience and immersion in the Asian culture of an exciting city.

Prerequisites
Part 1: You must be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers; must hold an intermediate basic or senior basic qualification;
Part 2: You must be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers; must hold an intermediate basic or senior basic qualification; must have completed Part 1; must have minimum ONE year teaching experience, subsequent to certification, by course start date.

Withdrawals effective on date the signed withdrawal notice is received. Fees refunded subject to the non refundable amounts below:
$250 - Before course begins
$530 - After course begins

Note: There are no refunds for withdrawals received after May 25, 2012
