Principal's Qualification Program (PQP)

Redefine the Possible through this highly motivating and engaging program, offered by one of Canada's leading Faculties of Education.

Drawing on the immense research and practical experience of Faculty staff and the expertise of our experienced course leaders, this program actively involves candidates in practical aspects of the role and current issues facing school administrators. The PQP program is fully accredited by the Ontario College of Teachers and undergoes ongoing review and renewal by our staff.

The York University Faculty of Education PQP Program offers the candidate:

  • Multiple locations and on-line options
  • Opportunities to meet with candidates from other boards to share experiences and knowledge
  • Access to high quality guest speakers
  • A progressive delivery model grounded in the principles of adult learning

Headstart on the PQP

A one-day workshop introduction to the requirements of the Principal's Qualification Program with a particular emphasis on the practicum.

You will:

  • Examine components of the PQP Part 1 Program
  • Investigate aspects of leadership and management
  • Spend a half-day on the Practicum component

You will gain a clear understanding of what is required on the road to principalship, and a thorough understanding of the Practicum which is a requirement of the PQP.

By taking this workshop, participants will be a few steps ahead of the game.
