Additional Qualification Program (AQ) and Additional Basic Qualification Program (ABQ)
Our Additional Qualification (AQ) courses are certified by the Ontario College of Teachers, and meet the 125-hour time requirement. The scheduled in-class time, or the online component in online and partial online courses, comprise 65 hours of the 125 required hours for the AQ. The teacher inquiry component of the course comprises the remaining 60 hours.
Inquiry
The teacher inquiry is 60 hours of logged independent work that involves developing a question of inquiry, doing an analysis on the review of literature related to the question, talking to an educator about their experience with the subject of the inquiry, developing a plan for investigating the question and completing a structured reflection based on a personal gap analysis. All of this is presented in a written report.
