Email upgrade: what to expect

On Friday July 13 after 5pm:

The following functions in email and calendaring will stop working:

  • shared mail boxes will no longer be shared
  • delegated access to calendars will be revoked
  • email rules will stop working

Note: ITS staff will assist you with recreating these permissions based on your request

On July 17 at 8am (for staff):

Sending and receiving email using a desktop email client (e.g. Outlook 2016, Mac Mail) or a mail app on a mobile device will be temporarily unavailable
  • ITS staff will come to your desk and assist with setting up your new Outlook credentials on your desktop, laptop and/or mobile device
  • Once credentials have been set up, emails sent to your @yorku.ca and @edu.yorku.ca addresses will arrive in one inbox
  • If you need immediate access to your mail and calendar, please visit outlook.office.com

On July 18 at 8am (for instructors):

Sending and receiving email using a desktop email client (e.g. Outlook 2016, Mac Mail) or from a mail app on a mobile device will be temporarily unavailable
  • Follow the instructions on how to setup email
  • If you are on campus, ITS staff will be happy to assist you with setting up your new Outlook credentials on your desktop, laptop and/or mobile device.
  • If you are not on campus, ITS staff can help you over the phone, or through Zoom to help you with setup.
  • Once credentials have been set up, emails sent to your @yorku.ca and @edu.yorku.ca addresses will arrive in one inbox
  • If you need immediate access to your mail and calendar, please visit outlook.office.com
