SMART board Level 1 and Level 2 Certificate Training
Description
SMART boards are interactive whiteboards used in school Boards and business settings.
This service includes a facilitated 3 hour training session on SMART Tech’s SMART board and notebook products. At the end of the session, successful participants will receive a certificate of Level 1 or Level 2 completion.

York University, Faculty of Education: students and faculty. Faculty of Education staff can use this service through special request to IT Director.
Service Details
What to expect
- This session is led by a SMART Training Specialist who works with SMART products. By the end of the session, you’ll be comfortable using the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and SMART Notebook collaborative learning software in your classroom.
- You’ll receive a SMART Notebook Software Training for SMART Board Users Learner Workbook that includes reference material, step-by-step activities and review exercises. The workbook is used during the session and is an excellent reference resource.
- You’ll have time to ask questions and practice your skills under the guidance of the SMART Training Specialist
Who should attend?
- New users of SMART Board interactive whiteboards or SMART Notebook software, and anyone who wants an introduction to these products
- K–12 educators, higher education instructors and corporate trainers
How to request this service
The service must be requested at minimum 1 month in advance.
How to request a SMART board certificate session:
- helpdesk ticket to helpdesk@edu.yorku.ca requesting “SMART board & notebook Level 1 Certificate training” for students.
- faculty members to provide location, date, time, and number of students (minimum 10, maximum 45 per session)
- students can make individual requests through helpdesk, and will be notified when a session is scheduled by Faculty of Education IT services.
Facilitator and User training material will be provided by Faculty of Education.
Charges
There are no charges for this service to faculty and students associated with the Faculty of Education. For those not associated with the Faculty of Education, please contact the Director of ITS at the Faculty of Education.
