More than ever, teachers are required to have a global outlook in their approach to teaching and learning. In order to enhance the learning of our students, the Faculty of Education at York University is working to provide international learning opportunities for our students, where they will be able to learn about other education systems, classroom strategies in different environments, and discover more about themselves as individuals and as teachers.
Consecutive program students in the Faculty of Education have the opportunity to participate in the International Practicum Placement (IPP) for the month of May as a part of their program in the Faculty of Education.
This program provides students with the opportunity to teach in a public school in an international location. Students have taught in schools for one month in Kenya, Nicaragua, and the People’s Republic of China. Other locations may be added in the future.
In order to participate:
Spaces in this program are limited, so a competitive application process is in place. We encourage all Consecutive students to consider applying to participate in this excellent learning opportunity!
