Education Resource Centre (ERC)

Services and Facilities

The primary function of the Education Resource Centre is to support practice teaching by providing resources and materials for students enrolled in a Faculty of Education program. Borrowing privileges for the collection are restricted to these individuals only.

The ERC's collection includes: children's picture books, non-fiction and textbooks for children, teacher instructional materials (activity files, manipulatives, teacher edition publications, pictures), Ministry of Education documents and software, periodicals, videos, CDs, cassettes, Deaf Education materials, French language materials, local boards of education publication, York Masters of Education research papers, and reference materials.

Computer Services for Education Students

A number of computers are available in the ERC. The adjacent computer lab is reserved for use by Faculty of Education students and instructors. The computer lab is available for drop-in access when it is not booked for a class. Computer lab assistants are available at designated times.

All computers contain standard software and full Internet access, as well as a number of applications specifically acquired for the Faculty of Education including Ontario Ministry of Education licensed software.
