Specially designed to serve Early Childhood Educators working in all day Kindergarten classrooms, these courses will benefit ECEs in understanding and applying the theories of early childhood development as they relate to the Kindergarten learner and Ministry of Education curriculum. A child-centered, active learning approach to curriculum will be the focus.
Who Should Attend
Early Childhood Educators interested in enhancing professional knowledge about effective practice with children aged 3.5 – 6 years.
- 125 hours in length including in-class sessions, additional readings and assignments
- Mix of evening & Saturday classes during the school year; summer intensive in July
- Presented as a collaborative program with Kindergarten teachers completing the AQ course
- Offered as requested by various school boards around the province
- Held at convenient locations at schools across the GTA and beyond
- A Certificate of Completion is provided
Kindergarten Course Certificate Part 1 - Teaching Strategies
The course focus is on the age-appropriate instruction for all day kindergarten programs that is based on theories of child development; current brain research; and Ministry of Education policy. Key components of the course include: the Teacher/ECE role and collaborative planning and delivery and a play-based curriculum.
Kindergarten Course Certificate Part 2 - Planning
The course focus is on age-appropriate student assessment and program planning, both short term and long term. Key components of the course include: strategies and tools for assessment and documentation of student progress.
Kindergarten Course Certificate Part 3 – Leadership
The course focus is on taking leadership in the delivery of kindergarten learning. Key components of the course include: working with parents; mentoring other professionals and accessing community resources.

Withdrawals are effective on the date the withdrawal notice is received in our office and fees refunded subject to the non-refundable amounts below:
- $150 - Before course begins
- $250 - After course begins
No refunds are issued after the withdrawal deadline date.
