Candidates must prepare to teach one subject from the following list with at least four full-year (or equivalent) university courses in the teaching subject:

Applicants must have completed at least three full-year (or equivalent) courses spanning three of the following subject areas: Shakespeare, Canadian Literature, Post-Colonial and Gender Studies and Language & Writing.
Applicants must have a full course in "Introduction to Geoinformatics" (or equivalent).
Must include a minimum of two activity courses (attach a list of activity courses to the Supplementary Information Forms). Activity courses include swimming, soccer, gymnastics, etc.
Applicants must have at least one full-year (or equivalent) Canadian History course. As well, applicants will be given preference if other History courses reflect the diverse nature of society. Thus, we would recommend Social History courses (involving themes such as race, gender, ethnicity and class), and courses reflecting the histories of non-western nations.
Applicants must have completed three full-year (or equivalent) courses spanning all of the following subject areas: Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, and proof-based Mathematics. Statistics courses taken in other subject areas (e.g. Psychology or Sociology) will only account for a maximum of one half course towards the teaching subject requirement.

Applicants must have completed a combination of at least three full-year (or equivalent) courses spanning two of the following subject areas: Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. We accept additional courses from Earth and Atmospheric Space Science or Natural Science.
