The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario makes available numerous scholarships and bursaries to students enrolled in Ontario’s publicly funded schools and faculties of education. These scholarships and bursaries are available to students enrolled in either undergraduate or graduate work at a faculty/school of education.
ETFO offers this bursary annually to Aboriginal women who are entering a publicly funded faculty of education or ETFO Aboriginal women members who are taking a qualification/upgrading course at a publicly funded university/institution. Up to four bursaries of up to $1,250 and a certificate of recognition may be granted. This award is not intended to support a master’s or doctorate program.

This award is for a student at the faculty/school of education during the actual year of their teacher training. The award recipient will receive a bursary of $500 from ETFO. This award is open to any student enrolled in the faculty/school of education who is not currently receiving another ETFO scholarship or bursary. The faculty/school of education is to select the candidate who, in their opinion, best meets the criteria set by the ETFO Executive. The criteria for this award are as follows:
