Current Students

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

In addition to the required academic courses and practicum placements, Concurrent and Part-time Consecutive BEd students must attend practicum seminars which meet eight times each year and complete Education electives.

Teacher candidates cannot pass their practicum placement if they have not satisfied the requirements for their seminars.

Students can enrol in Education electives using the online enrolment system. When elective courses are full, students can add their names to the online Elective Waitlist. A false appointment is needed in order to use this online system. You are not expected to attend this false appointment.

Full-time Consecutive teacher candidates should order their transcripts for both their undergraduate degree and their BEd degree to be sent to the Ontario College of Teachers once degrees are conferred. Following convocation, the Faculty of Education will automatically send the letter of recommendation to the Ontario College of Teachers for an Ontario Certificate of Registration.

Concurrent Program

To continue in the Concurrent BEd program, students must have the following:

You are required to graduate with both degrees at the same time during June convocation. If you do not think you are able to do this, then you would delay graduation for both degrees. In that case, you cannot apply for teaching positions for September because you will not be recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers until you confer both your degrees.
