The Alyce Orzy Award in Jewish Teacher Education is given in memory of a prominent leader of the Kitchener and Toronto Jewish communities. Given annually to a student in the Jewish Teacher Education Program demonstrating financial need and high academic achievement. Preference will be given to students from communities outside Toronto.

This bursary has been established in the memory of Dr. Brian Crawford, a professor with Faculty of Education who passed away in the summer of 2005. Dr. Crawford worked with a wide variety of students through his career, young and old, kindergarten to university, Cambridge Bay, N.W.T. to schools in the Greater Toronto Area. He thrived on being a teacher, using his love of literature to make his classroom an inspiring place.
This bursary is available to students currently enrolled in either the concurrent or the consecutive program in the Faculty of Education at York University. Preference may be given to students who are passionate about promoting literacy, who are excited to teach in an elementary school setting, and who are committed to supporting children with special needs. Established by Stephanie and Winston Ling, the Cornerstone Leadership in Action Awards will be presented annually to a student enrolled in their second year of the Faculty of Education's concurrent teacher education program and a student enrolled in the Faculty of Education's graduate program who has completed either the concurrent or consecutive teacher education program at York. One award will be available for students from each of these programs. The awards recognize students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership potential or ability and who embrace attributes such as honesty, integrity, passion, enthusiasm, innovation, creativity, humility and trustworthiness. This award was established in 2005 in honour of Edith Agnes Cory, late wife of Peter DeCarteret Cory, Chancellor of York University. Mrs. Cory was a passionate believer in the important role of teachers in our communities. The Fleischer Awards at the Centre for Jewish Studies has been created by a generous donation from the Willie and Mildred Fleischer Charitable Foundation. These awards will annually support two outstanding students in financial need.
