For out-of-Ontario Applicants
Applicants who will be unavailable during the interview period (ordinarily scheduled during the month of February) may request an early interview, and are required to submit all admission materials to the BEd Student Services office by November 2. These applicants must also submit supporting documentation indicating their absence from the province or country for the entire month of February. To accommodate out-of-province or out-of-country applicants who may require a December interview, we ask that these applicants notify the Faculty of Education, BEd Student Services office (osp@edu.yorku.ca) in 128 Winters College. This must be done by November 2 so that sufficient time is allowed to make the necessary arrangements. Every effort will be made to arrange an interview in December.
Ready to Apply?
Step 1: Complete a TEAS application through OUAC (Ontario University Application Centre). This is where you will pay all your application fees and request transcripts.
Step 2: Please read the Faculty of Education Consecutive Supplementary Application Booklet (PDF) to prepare for completing the supplementary application process.
Step 3: Approximately a week after completing step 1, (OUAC application), you will receive a letter with your York Student Reference ID and instructions on how to access your online supplementary form through www.yorku.ca/MyFile. Complete the online supplementary application. This can only be submitted once so please make sure that you answered all the questions.
All documents must be submitted by December 1 (NO EXCEPTIONS). This includes submission of the online TEAS application through the Ontario Universities Application Centre, the York University Faculty of Education Supplementary Application Form and all other admission documents (Experience Profile, Personal Statement, two references, and transcripts), and test results for English proficiency (only if applicable).
