Access Initiative for Mentorship (AIM)

AIM is a mentorship program for teacher candidates currently enrolled in York’s Faculty of Education.  This initiative seeks to provide mentorship support for candidates who experience systemic barriers as a result of their race/class/gender/sexual orientation/disability/etc.  This informal support will be provided by mentors in the profession who have also experienced systemic barriers and have an understanding of the challenges that may result from these barriers.  The process to obtain additional support is simple.

3 Easy Steps to Gaining Additional Support:

  1. Send us an email indicating that you would like to talk with a mentor access@edu.yorku.ca
  2. We will respond with the name and phone number of a mentor
  3. Contact your mentor and discuss with them how they can best support you

If you have any questions regarding this initiative, please contact us at access@edu.yorku.ca
